Story : Johnny Depp plays the role of the charismatic bank robber of the 1930’s Depression era. John Dillinger and his gang were unstoppable and they became some sort of heroes for the American public who had no sympathy for the banks that put the whole country into the Depression. In this time J. Edgar Hoover(Billy Crudup) will try to catch John Dillinger and his gang in a way to promote and sustain the activity of the newly created Bureau of Investigation, later to become the FBI.

After John Dillinger will become the first man to be named Public Enemy Number One in America, J. Edgar Hoover will send for Melvin Purvis(Christian Bale), FBI’s top agent, to put an end to this out of control situation.
